Labor Day concert benefits senior, community center

The Douglas County Community Services Foundation in cooperation with Douglas County will be providing a free Labor Day concert in Lampe Park.

Catfish Carl will play Rhythm & Blues 3 to 7 p.m. Monday near the group pavilion.

“Please join us for good music, food and games for the family,” organizers said. “There will be a dunk tank where you can test your accuracy in hopes of dunking Travis Lee, our director, as well as some of our other county celebs.”

Hot dogs, bratwurst, hamburgers and beer along with sodas will be for sale.

A hot dog meal costs $5, bratwurst meal $6 and a hamburger meal $6. Meals include chips and a soft drink.

All proceeds will help furnish the new Community and Senior Center.

Event sponsors include Carson Valley Sertoma, Carson Valley Accounting and Classical Glass.

For more information, call Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department at 782-9828.
