July lecture features Jewish heritage in Nevada

The Douglas County Historical Society’s July 11 lecturer will be John Marschall on the Jewish presence in Nevada. The lecture will be 7 p.m. at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center in Gardnerville Marschall received a doctorate. in American Religious History and Constitutional Law from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. He founded the ecumenical and interfaith Center for Religion and Life in Reno in 1968. The one-hour program will include an introduction to the Jewish presence in Nevada from 1850 through the turn of the century before the Goldfield boom. It will highlight figures who lived …
