Walk, run helps children with autism

Families for Effective Autism Treatment of the Carson Valley is throwing down the gauntlet to raise $20,000 during the annual 5 or 10K walk/run. The fourth annual fundraiser is April 27 at Heritage Park in Gardnerville. Registration time is 9 a.m. for 10K and 9:30 a.m. for 5K walkers. “Our endeavor to help children with autism, which now affects 1 in 88 is the driving force to make this our best event yet,” Treasurer Tara Addeo said. “We have so many needs in our community for children with autism, and we don’t have enough funds to help everybody.” In 2012, …
