The Carson Valley Arts Council is coming off a nearly sold out show with Diego's Umbrella and will continue the 2nd Friday concert series with all female-fronted band honeymoon March 9 at the CVIC Hall.
The evening will begin with a wine reception hosted by Tahoe Ridge Winery, Marketplace, and Bistro at 6 p.m, followed by the concert at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
Lauren Shera, Andrea Blunt, Sara Bollwinkel, and Christina Bailey began playing music together in early 2010 which produced honeymoon, an indie-folk blend with traditional roots and pop sensibility. Each of the four young women have a unique and powerful stage presence that commands an audience's attention as they trade lead vocals and switch between instruments with ease; combining pristine four-part harmonies with masterful arrangements played on guitar, piano, banjo, accordion, and violin. The ladies will be accompanied by Matt Bollwinkel on bass and Mark Quinn on drums, rounding out their sound. Between their original material and their choice selection of cover songs, honeymoon manages to weave the nostalgia of Americana music with the force of indie-rock.
Tickets for the CVAC Concert Series may be purchased online at cvartscouncil.com, by phone, or at the door. For more information or to order tickets by phone, call the CVAC at 782-8207 or firstname.lastname@example.org
