Arts council hosts business arts workshop

The Carson Valley Arts Council is sponsoring a two-part workshop called Business of the Arts for Artists, arts organizations, musicians, and wannabe artists

The workshops are 9 a.m.-noon June 21 and June 28. The first workshop will be at the CVAC Copeland Cultural Arts Center located at 1572 Highway 395 in Minden. The second one will take place at Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville.

Topics include business planning for artists and musicians, taxes for self-employed artists, copyright, marketing and social media, building sales, and Nevada Arts Council resources like grants, apprenticeships, artist in residence and more.

Speakers include Paul R. Baker Prindle of UNR Galleries, Michael Salogga of Carson City Business Resource Innovation Center and Capitol City Arts Initiative, Susan Boskoff of Nevada Arts Council, Drew Aguilar, CPA and Carol Foldvary-Anderson.

Friends of the CVAC can call 782-8207 or email to register for this two-part class. General public can mail or drop off their name, address, phone and email with a registration check of $15 payable to the Carson Valley Arts Council, P.O. Box 244, Minden, NV 89423 by June 20.

Pre-registration is required and space is limited.
