Plans for holding a celebration at Genoa, June 9th for commemorating the pioneer pony express riders is progressing splendidly according to members of the Minden Rotary club, and from early reports the celebration will attract the largest crowd of people to assemble in the historic old Douglas County town in the past quarter century.

Running a full two weeks ahead of schedule, in spite of the early May snows which curtailed work, the new addition to the Douglas County Court House should be ready for occupancy early in June.

County officials will proceed with a lawsuit filed by disgruntled property owners over the East Valley-Buckeye roads assessment district, refusing to reconsider the assessment formula.
