Carson Valley singer Craig Crow hosts an open mic show 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. every Saturday at Honu Coffee in the Gardnerville Ranchos.
“Everyone is welcome to play and show off their talent,” Crow said. “All tips and donations got to Camp Care Lake Tahoe for special needs children and adults.”
When not hosting events Crow plays with a band called The Craig Crow Show.
The band consists of Crow, Bob Taglarini on bass guitar and Don Piletic on drums. Other musicians sit in occasionally.
The band plays numerous originals songs and cover songs.
“I wanted a band that was a toned down rock band or like a pumped up acoustic style band,” Crow said. :So we came up with a real comfortable listening band, small compact and enjoyable.”
Crow was the founder and member of another local band Big Bad Wolf.
“I played with the wolf many years and it got to the point were I couldn’t do the long late night shows and had to leave for health reason,” he said. “It was tough because I had a great friendship With all the members and had a lot of fun. Now I’ve downsized and do shorter sets of music and I generally sit down when I play.”
Crow said he has had numerous songs played on radio, as well as Jerry Lewis telethon and various other establishments, and prides himself on having written more than 1,100 songs.
