The island in the center of Genoa is no more. A&K Earthmovers started work on the downtown revitalization project by removing the island, which was home to the flagpole, two monuments and a couple of planters. Genoa Town Board members meet 6:30 p.m. today to talk about putting a crosswalk between the Vista Trail and the post office, among other things.
Jobs Peak Ranch developer Cole Smith is seeking the conversion of a one-acre parcel along Foothill Road just south of Centerville from public facility to single family residential at the Douglas County Planning Commissioner 1 p.m. today. The parcel was originally dedicated to the phone company for a switch box but they never took title to it, according to the report. Planning staff is recommending approval.
Douglas County School Board trustees will be discussing the new school performance measurements at their regularly scheduled meeting at Douglas High School 3:30 p.m. today. Also on the agenda is a discussion of the graduation ceremony regulations, and an update on the master plan for school facilities.
