Valley artists teach at Virginia City

Valley artists Pam Brekas and Kaleigh Surber are leading abstract painting and mandala workshops March 22-24 for the experienced and novice artist alike.

The weekend workshop retreat is at St. Mary's Art Center in Virginia City.

The weekend includes two nights lodging (either a private or shared room), dinner on Friday night, the workshop, and all supplies.

Cost is $275, with a $50 deposit holding the space and the remainder due at the workshop.

Kaleigh Surber is an award winning artist, teacher, personal counselor, lifelong meditator, and spiritual seeker. As an artist, she works primarily in watercolor, pastel, ink, and acrylic. In addition to fine art paintings, Kaleigh has illustrated more than 25 books for both children and adults and creates advertising illustrations and graphic designs.

Award winning Gardnerville artist and former high school art teacher, Pam Brekas has been active in the local art scene for eight years. She has taught abstract acrylic and creative play workshops in her home studio and at St. Mary's Art Center for the past five years.
