Dinner and show benefit Carson Valley Pops Orchestra

An Italian family dinner and variety show Saturday in the CVIC Hall benefits the Carson Valley Pops Orchestra.Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m.Dave Pieretti is cooking the old family recipe of Italian Sugo (meat sauce) with pasta, caesar salad and garlic bread. Dessert is spumoni ice cream donated by J.T. Basque Bar & Dining Room.The variety show starting at 7 p.m.consists of several groups of musicians, most of whom play in the Pops Orchestra on a regular basis. There will be the “Drumset Duo,” “Area 51,” “Bluegrass,” “The Unnamed Woodwind Quintet” and the “Zephyrus Brass.” There will be a no host bar. Admission is $20 for adults, and $10 for children under 12. Donations accepted. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is making a monetary donation to the Carson Valley Pops Orchestra for their Italian family dinner. For further information, contact Margaret Biggs at (775) 843-0830.
