Douglas High School senior Trent DeGiovani took top state honors during the American Legion Constitutional Speech Contest in Boulder City earlier this month.DeGiovani had to deliver an 8-10 minute and a 3-5 minute impromptu speech about the U.S. Constitution without the benefit of notes, sound system or podium.Sponsored by Carson City's American Legion Post 4, the Fish Springs resident beat out Reno and Henderson contestants on Feb. 9 to go onto the national contest in Indianapolis, Ind., on April 19.DeGiovanni won the district contest on Jan. 12 in Fallon.DeGioivani is a member of the Douglas Speech and Debate team where …
