Kiwanis concert benefits wounded vets

The Kiwanis Club of Carson Valley is sponsoring a concert that will improve the quality of life of Gardnerville resident Fred Meyling and other injured veterans like him.Southern California band Woody and the Longboards are performing a “Soar Like an Eagle,” benefit concert Feb. 23 in the CVIC Hall. The Kiwanis have partnered with the G-3-1 Korea Association which provides trained service animals to wounded military service personnel. In 1984, Meyling fell 28 feet from a roof and broke his back, leaving him a paraplegic.After 28 years service in the Army as a Green Beret, Meyling, 58, is a strong …
