SUV smashes through post office wall

No injuries were reported after a driver struck the U.S. Postal Service branch on Emerald Bay Road with an SUV Tuesday morning.

South Lake Tahoe police received a report of a vehicle into the building about 11 a.m. When authorities arrived, they found a Ford Explorer crashed into the south side of the post office.

The driver told police she was pulling into a parking space when the accelerator on the vehicle stuck, causing her to lurch forward and crash into the building, officer Donna Kingman said.
