Mono County Deputy Wesley Hoskin graduated from the Riverside County Sheriff's Academy on Jan. 17.
Hoskin started with the department in November 2009 as a public safety officer, which encompasses the duties of jailer and dispatcher.
He was promoted through the ranks of the Mono County Sheriff's Department.
Through the support and authorization of the Mono County Board of Supervisors in July 2012, Wesley was promoted to Sheriff and has completed the six-month training program.
Hoskin graduated from the academy at the top of his class.
He is currently starting his field training program to learn the ins and outs of his new position.
