The annual opening of the bids for Kingsbury Middle School will be 4:35 p.m. today. Douglas County School Board trustees have been trying to sell the Zephyr Cove school since it closed. Minimum bid is $4 million. We haven't heard they've received any bites. School Board trustees meet 3:30 p.m. today at Douglas High School.
The Carson Valley Inn's events center proposal is going before planning commissioners 1 p.m. today at the Douglas County Administrative Building, 1616 Eighth St., in Minden. The Inn is being required to change its permit to establish the new use.
Gardnerville and Genoa town boards are meeting today. Gardnerville will be reviewing a proposal for a convenience store and restaurant at Virginia Ranch south of town. The Gardnerville board meets 4:30 p.m. in the town offices. Genoans will be talking about a proposal to put a carillon bell in one of the town's buildings and submitting of a grant to the Nevada Arts Council for the fourth annual Cowboy Festival. They meet at 6:30 p.m.
It's got to be pretty hazy before the National Weather Service puts that in the forecast, but there it is. Expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 42 degrees and a west wind turning to the southeast before the morning's out. Looks like we've got snow in the forecast on Wednesday through Friday.
