The Tahoe-Douglas Elks Lodge is sponsoring its annual Hoop Shoot National Basketball Free Throw Contest on Tuesday at Meneley Elementary School at 3:30 p.m.The contest is open to all Douglas County residents ages 8 to 13.Each contestant will have 25 free throw attempts. Contestants must wear tennis shoes and use the provided basketballs. No registration is required for the local contest.Local winners will compete in the district finals in Carson City on Jan. 26 with the state finals taking place in Hawthorne on Feb. 2.The names of the national winners will be inscribed on the Elks National Hoop Shoot plaque …
