Home birth makes Brayden Grey true Douglas native

Sunridge residents Kirsten and Eddie Shope are the parents of a son, who is believed to be the first Douglas County baby born in 2013.

With a projected due date of Jan. 23, Brayden Grey surprised everyone and arrived early, being born 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at home.

"It's a lot of fun because it's a special thing," 26-year-old Eddie said. "He's doing awesome. The whole process just blew my mind. When I first saw him it was amazing."

Brayden weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces and was 19 1⁄2 inches long.
