Tahoe Douglas gets $2.7 million homeland security grant

The Tahoe-Douglas Fire District will be receiving a $2,701,896 grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as part of the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Program, it was announced today. The grant funds will be used to increase the number of firefighters, as well as to develop better emergency readiness capabilities, Nevada Sen. Harry Reid said today.
