Units respond to three-car accident near S-curve

Emergency crews responded to a three-vehicle accident near the S-curve in Gardnerville at about 3:35 p.m. Wednesday.

Witnesses on scene said three cars were involved in a rear-end-type collision resulting in moderate damage.

One of the cars was reportedly leaking fuel, prompting a hazardous materials team to be called to the site. The hazmat team was later called off, as existing teams believed they could handle it.

First-responders indicated there was at least one patient needing medical attention, and another person refusing treatment.

Motorists should use caution in the area.
