The R-C Morning Report

Douglas merchants continued to bring in more taxable sales, though only a fraction of a percent increase this year over October 2011, according to figures released this morning by the Nevada Department of Taxation. Douglas had $45.245 million in taxable sales in October 2012, up .4 percent from $45.07 million for the same month the prior year.

The amount of yellow on the SafeTravel Web site has retreated a bit, though chains or snow tires are still required over Kingsbury Grade, Spooner Summit and on Highway 88 south to the state line. Those snow tires better turn to four-wheel drive, if you're headed over Carson Pass or Echo Summit, Interstate 80 is open with no controls this morning if you need to take the long way around.

It's 25 degrees out this morning so anything that was wet on the way home last night is frozen this morning. We've still got a slight chance of snow this morning until about 10 a.m. The high will hit 32 degrees, so we'll get to keep most of the snow we have the Valley for a bit.
