Community theatre presents ‘Some Enchanted Evening’

The musical revue “Some Enchanted Evening,” a celebration of the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein, will be presented by the Carson Valley Community Theatre at the CVIC Hall in Minden, Jan. 25 through Feb. 3, 2013.CVCT presents its third musical revue featuring music from Broadway shows. Previous productions were “Sounds of Broadway” (2008) and “Broadway in Revue” (2010), both of which were well received by audiences.Under the direction of Norris Edson and the musical direction of Sue Kinney, the production will take the audience on a sound excursion of popular show tunes. Performed by vocalists from Carson Valley and the surrounding area, the program includes songs from such Broadway hits as “Oklahoma,” “South Pacific,” “The Sound of Music,” “The King And I,” and several more.Performance dates are Jan. 25 through 27 and Feb. 1 through 3. Show times are 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets will be available at the CVCT box office at 1572 Highway 395 in Minden. The phone number is 292-0939.
