Eight killed on Douglas roads during 2012

Four of the people killed in 2012's fatal crashes died on Highway 395 during the same night.

Figures released by the Nevada Highway Patrol list six fatal accidents in Douglas County that resulted in eight deaths, a decrease of four over 2011.

Four people were killed in two alcohol-related crashes, including three killed in a Sept. 15 head-on in the Pine Nut Mountains.

• 2012 was 44 minutes old when Walnut Creek resident Alex M. Moore, 21, was hit by a California Highway Patrol vehicle as he was walking in the eastbound lanes of Highway 50.
