Carson-Douglas rivalry finishes 2nd in the West

Despite a nearly 600 percent improvement from the state voting, the Carson-Douglas rivalry came up short in the USA Today Best High School Football Rivalry contest regional voting last week.

The rivalry, which easily won the voting for best in the state of Nevada, finished second in the Western United States behind the Douglas-Bisbee rivalry in Arizona.

Douglas-Bisbee finished with 92,163 votes during the regional voting while Carson and Douglas finished with 40,654 votes. That was up from 7,124 votes during the state competition.
