The R-C Morning Report

It's raining on the west side of the Valley and there are road controls on Kingsbury and over Spooner Summit. Getting over the passes won't be easy either, with snow tires or chains required over Carson Pass. Four-wheel drive or chains are being required on Highway 50 over Echo Summit and over Interstate 80.

School buses at Lake Tahoe will stop only at the main stops this morning for Whittell and Zephyr Cove students. The main stop for children living in Tramway and Kingsbury Village is at Tina and Ski courts. The main stop for the Glenbrook area is at the community's entrance. The Whittell bus will arrive at 6:35 a.m. at Tina Court and then at 6:46 a.m. at Glenbrook. The Zephyr Cove bus arrives at Tina Court at 7:55 a.m. and at Glenbrook at 8:03 a.m.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for the Sierra and we've got a wind advisory down in the Valley through 1 p.m. Expect the wind to be out of the south and southwest at 20-35 mph, gusting to 55 mph, with gusts of up to 70 mph in the foothills and wind-prone areas.
