Highway 395 down to two lanes while rescuers clear accident

One lane of Highway 395 is open each way at Airport Road in a two-vehicle accident that closed the road for about an hour.

The accident was reported as a T-bone at 1:37 p.m. The accident involved an orange Audi with Nevada plates and a red sedan with California plates.

CareFlight and CalStar could not fly due to the poor weather, so an ambulance from Carson City took four victims to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno.

The northbound lane of Highway 395 was shut down at Airport Road and traffic redirected along that corridor toward Johnson Lane.

Traffic delays are expected to continue while vehicles clear the scene.

Motorists should use caution in the area. Those traveling north or south can use Foothill Road and Muller Lane to circumvent the accident site.
