One dead in South Lake Tahoe traffic collision

Alcohol is suspected to be involved in a two-vehicle collision that killed a passenger early this morning in South Lake Tahoe.

The accident was reported at about 1:35 a.m. at the intersection of Pioneer Trail and Ski Run Boulevard.

South Lake Tahoe Police arrived on scene to find a white Honda Accord driven by Roberto Olazaba, 22, and a gold GMC Yukon driven by Noe Corea, 26, in the intersection. According to preliminary reports, the Honda broadsided the Yukon.

Three patients were taken to Barton Memorial Hospital for treatment.
