December lecture features Judge Cradlebaugh

Bob Ellison will discuss the life of Judge Cradlebaugh for the Douglas County Historical Society’s December lecture.The lecture begins at 7 p.m. Thursday in the downstairs meeting room at the Carson Valley Museum and Cultural Center.Ellison is a long time resident of Carson Valley, and the author of numerous newspaper and magazine articles and three books on Nevada history; “Territorial Lawmen of Nevada, First Impressions,” the history of the emigrant trail through Carson Valley from 1848-1851; and “Longbeard,” the story of Warren Wasson. Ellison is a former Constable of East Fork Township and a long time employee of the former Bently Nevada Corporation. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. Admission is $3, and free to historical society members.The Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center is located at 1477 Highway 395 in Gardnerville.For more information, call 782-2555.
