Today, the Mono County Board of Supervisors officially appointed and swore in Undersheriff Ralph Obenberger to the succeed Sheriff-Coroner Richard C. Scholl, who announced in November he was going to retire as of Dec. 20.Obenberger has been in law enforcement for more 27 years. He started his career with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office for 15 years before moving to Mono County.
