Giving tree up at Walker store

The Walker General Store is again having the Giving Tree for local children needing a gift. You can help make a happy holiday for someone if you drop by the store and take one of the ornament tags with the name of the child and the gift they would like, then purchase and wrap the gift, and return it to the store with the tag by Dec. 20. This will make a big difference in the holidays for these kids, so please participate.

Coleville basketball

Our teams started the year by hosting the basketball tournament sponsored by the Antelope Valley Lions Club. There were four boys' and four girls' teams playing Friday afternoon and Saturday. The Coleville girls' team won, and the boys' team finished second in their division. It was a lot of fun for all who attended, and we should look forward to next year's tourney.

Senior Center

The Antelope Valley Senior Center is having December's Bingo games this Friday, Dec. 7, starting around 12:30 p.m. Everyone playing these no-cost games has been having a great time, with many free tasty lunches at the Senior Center being given out to the winners. Try to find the time to come down, see old friends and make new ones.

This and that

I hope you are getting to the point you can wind down your Christmas shopping and enjoy the season. Hopefully the weather will cooperate for the holiday get-togethers that will be taking place. Just have a great time and enjoy whatever you're doing this holiday.
