Weather won't stop Minden, Genoa lightings, Parade of Lights

Events scheduled for tonight and Saturday night are due to go off on schedule.

Minden Town Manager Jenifer Davidson said the only thing that will stop the annual gazebo and tree lighting is lightning.

More than a half inch of rain fell in Minden so far today, according to RC weather watcher Stan Kapler.

But in watching the weather, she said it appeared that there's going to be a break this evening.

The holiday event starts at 5 p.m. with the lighting occurring at 6 p.m.
