A cold wind blowing

EDITOR:After another successful marching band season, in which the band performed its 201st field show in 28 years, the cold winds of change are blowing. It was proudly announced that Douglas High School will be getting a “new look” where the freshmen will be moving into a “sleek, state-of-the-art campus.” Unfortunately, the performing arts were once again left out in the cold. There is no auditorium that is included in the new construction.Promises were made. Promises were broken. In 1991 a bond issue that had an auditorium (which would have cost a $100,000 homeowner $.50 a month) failed. Years later …
