Fashion show, dinner benefits Family Support Council

A local clothing store is sponsoring a Night of Glitz and Glam on Thursday to benefit The Family Support Council.

The fundraiser fashion show hits the runway at 6 p.m. at the Carson Valley Inn.

"Twelve years ago I was a client of Family Support Council, and it's my way of showing gratitude and giving back," said Kimberly Cooper, who co-owns Rack'D Clothing Exchange with her daughter Riley June. "It's awesome we have Family Support Council in this community. The people there are encouraging and loving and supportive."

Along with a steak flambe dinner, the evening will include performances by the Harmonic Intervals, All About Dance students, Brynn Garrett and the winners from "So You Think You Can Dance, Reno."

More than 20 fashion models from Rack'D Clothing Exchange, Flip Flop Thrift and Just 2 Spoiled will showcase the latest in new and recycled clothing items.

"It's going to be a fantastic night," Cooper said. "You're going to see glitzy and glamorous things."

There will also be live and silent auctions throughout the night.

Tickets for A Night of Glitz and Glam fashion show are $35 in advance, or $40 at the door. Tickets are available at Rack'D Clothing Exchange, Flip Flop Thrift Shop, Accolades and Second Chance Furniture Consignment.
