Man completes DUI diversion program

A Minden man completed a DUI diversion program, avoiding conviction of a felony.

Tyson Degenhart, 36, was congratulated on completing the diversion program.

"This can be a life-changing program," District Judge Michael Gibbons said Monday.

"I think I've grown a lot in the program," Degenhart said. "I'm ready to move on to the next chapter of my life."

Degenhart has only to pay a $947 fine to complete his sentence.

"You're an example of how the court system can help the individual and also help protect the people at large," Gibbons said.
