Carson Valley gives thanks

The Record-Courier asked its readers what they were thankful for this year. Responses from preschoolers and older students ranged from family, to friends, to lunch meat. Thanks to everyone for sending in their letters, and have a great Thanksgiving. Thankfulness is importantI am thankful for many things. Well duh my parents. I am thankful for my friends back in California for giving me the best life I could ever have. I am thankful for Jesus dying on the cross for me. I am thankful for knowing my Father is waiting for me in heaven. I am thankful that I have not died yet. I am thankful for FCS and everyone at that school. I am thankful for my whole family. I am thankful for all the volunteers that helped teach me about the love of God. I am thankful for all the blessings God has given me including no fear to share the gospel. Kyman Berger,12GardnervilleMy perfect day starts as I wake up and realize how important being able to sleep in my own room is while others have to scout out a place to sleep the night before. When I put on my glasses, I recognize how important it is to have sight. When I go out to greet my family, I appreciate that I can greet my whole family. When I go to school, I appreciate that I have a good brain and healthy, athletic body. Then I can end the day with family and friends in a thankful way. Calvin Doerr,10 GardnervilleI’m thankful for a lot. The main things I’m thankful for are my parents, my best friend Jasmine, and my family. I’m thankful for my family because they always make me happy and they are there to support me no matter what I do. I’m thankful for my best friend Jasmine because she’s always there for me, she always has my back, and she makes me have the time of my life. Lastly, I’m thankful for my parents because they provide a roof over my head, food on my plate, gave me an awesome life, and love me unconditionally.Tatianna Petri, 12 Minden I realized that there is a ton of things that I have taken for granted, but whenever Thanksgiving comes around I feel extremely thankful. Even if it is as small as air or as big as life, it can also mean the difference between life and death.Companions that help me though life are my best buddies, all of them. My loyal albino German Shepard to my BFF at school and all the way back to my family. Everything else consists of food, technology, air, love, and living in USA is what makes life enjoyable. This year I am thankful for my family and for everyone else in the world, because without my parents I wouldn’t be doing so respectable in school. I am also appreciative for my teachers who are there for me when I need help. I also thank my brothers for always being there for me at the most athletic moments in my life and if it weren’t for them I wouldn’t even be in a sport. Without the people around me, I wouldn’t know in what position I would be in.Esperanza Ramos, 13GardnervilleThere are many things I am thankful for. First, I am thankful for having food on my plate. Also I am thankful for having the parents I have. They both love me no matter what. They also have taught me right and wrong. These are just some of the things I am thankful for. Tyler Crittenden, 12WellingtonWhen I think about what I’m thankful for lots of things come to mind. But when it comes down to it I’m most thankful for living and enjoying another great day on earth. I try to enjoy all the little special things each day brings. For instance when my dad wakes me up in the morning, going to school and seeing all my friends, and coming home and seeing my family. I look forward to having dinner with my family every night and hearing about their day. As I see it the important part of life is to enjoy all the little things.
