Champlin wins world title

Laurel Champlin of Gardnerville captured the world championship title in amateur hunter under saddle at the 2012 Bank of America Amateur American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show on Wednesday in Oklahoma City.

Champlin showed her American Quarter Horse Look N Hott a 2007 bay gelding. Look N Hott, sired by Hot N Blazing and out of Regal Marie, was bred by Susan Bernhard of Germantown, Wis.

In the amateur hunter under saddle class, 46 entries competed for world champion honors and a purse of $13,611.40.
