Knights bingo for suicide prevention

The Knights bingo on Friday is dedicated to the Suicide Prevention Network of Douglas County.

The Suicide Prevention Network of Douglas County is a nonprofit organization with the mission of providing prevention and intervention, education and community outreach services to the residents of Douglas County. The network believes that suicide is preventable and that suicide prevention works. The network is dependent on community support, and is currently in need of funds to continue their services which includes support groups for teens and survivors. They also provide programs throughout the Valley to educate, train, and learn about the warning signs of suicide.

"Like all nonprofit agencies in this current economy, we face disappearing and/or shrinking funding as a fact of life. We now find ourselves in the position of needing to reach out to our previous supporters, and ask for your help once again to get us through some difficult months," said Debbie Posnien, executive director. "It is our goal to spend the upcoming year focusing on finding additional funds through grant writing and other fundraising efforts. We need your support to accomplish that."
