The Douglas County Senior Center will be hosting its annual USO Veterans Day Celebration 10 a.m. to noon Friday.
This day is devoted to honoring the local men and women who have served and continue to serve in the Armed Forces.-
Sheriff Ron Pierini will be the Master of Ceremonies. There will be live music, guest speakers from the Nevada National Guard and a visit from a class at Gardnerville Elementary School.
Veteran's memorabilia will be displayed in the senior center lobby during the celebration. Lunch will follow the ceremony at noon.
This event is open to the public. All veterans and widows of veterans are encouraged to wear their uniforms, in part or in full, and/or their medals. Organizers encourage veterans to bring in their memorabilia for display in the lobby starting Monday.
