Ludwig "Popi" Degenhart, 73, of Minden Nev. passed away in his home on Monday Oct. 22, 2012.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday Nov. 4, 2012 at 1 p.m. at David Wally's Hot Springs in the gazebo, Foothill Road, Genoa Nev. 89411.
Ludwig was born in Nurneberg Germany on May 2, 1939. He came to the USA in 1956, with the dream of becoming a cowboy. Ludwig graduated from Long Beach State college in Los Angeles. He then moved to Carson City, Nev., in 1963, and opened his business 'German Auto'. Nov. 27th 1965 Ludwig Andreas Degenhart married Tamily Gay Mathews, a Douglas graduate, and they began their lives building a home on Sunrise Pass on Johnson lane. Where they creating a beautiful family. Living a full life, Popi raced foreign cars, flew airplanes, skied, and lastly played chess earning a "Grand Master" title in 2009.
Ludwig was survived by his loving wife, Tamily Gay Degenhart of 47 years; his sister, Liesel E. Laby; his daughter, Erika Lisa Lera; his two sons, Derek Andreas Degenhart and Tyson Adam Degenhart; and eight grand children, Krystal, Tyler, Maya, Kaitlyn, Carson, Lily, Tristan and Tanis.
