Walmart will hire approximately 225 associates to work at the new superstore slated to open next year in Gardnerville.
The retailer has opened a temporary hiring center at 1674 Highway 395, Suite 205, in Minden. Interested applicants can stop by during the center's hours of operation, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Applicants can also apply online at careers.walmart.com.
"We are hiring both full- and part-time associates," said store manager Erik Schumann. "Walmart provides good jobs with opportunities for career growth, and we look forward to talking with candidates who are interested in joining our store's team."
Schumann began his Walmart career in 2001 at a store in Jerome, Idaho. He said associates are needed to work in all areas of the new store, including supervisory positions.
The majority of associates will begin work in December to help prepare the store for its grand opening early next year.
Walmart's benefit program is available to eligible full- and part-time associates, including health care coverage.
