Coroner's Report: 14-year-old lost in Alpine froze to death

Authorities say a 14-year-old boy whose body was found after he went missing during a hunting trip in California's northern Sierra Nevada froze to death.

The Record of Stockton reports that those are the initial results of an autopsy on Taylor Dustin released on Monday by the Calaveras County Coroner.

Search crews discovered Dustin's body on Oct. 23 in a wilderness area bordering the Eldorado and Stanislaus National Forests.

He and his uncle, 40-year-old Devin Smith, were apparently on a hunting trip about 22 miles south of Lake Tahoe when they got lost and the weather turned inclement.
