Backed the right pig

EDITOR:The Douglas County Historical Society thanks the Corley Ranch for giving us the opportunity to raise funds by handling the ‘Pig Races’ on Oct. 14 during the Pumpkin Patch & Harvest Festival. The weather was perfect and the crowd enjoyed the activities offered by the Corley Family. A special thanks to Jon and Paula Corley and their family for providing a fun-filled fall event for the citizens of the community. We thank Nancy Rehfeldt of Full Belly Deli, Greg and Wayne of Hamdogs Restaurant and Eric Warren of 88 Cups & More for donating gift certificates for the adult participants. Our Douglas County Historical Society Book Store committee donated three gift certificates for the book store for the younger winners.A personal thank-you to the volunteers who assisted with the booth: Pete Harding, Mike Olson, Bev Giannopulos, Mary Ann Crosby, Gloria Darrington and Dave Thomas. Without volunteers no organization would exist.
