Gardnerville author celebrates book launch

Gardnerville author Kimberly Pryor released the paperback version of her award-winning book, "The Indestructible Relationship," on Thursday.

The book is available for sale today on

"The Indestructible Relationship: Support and Understand Each Other Better During Grief, Illness, and All Life's Stressful Moments" is a collection of real-life inspirational stories about couples who have endured some of life's most traumatic events - death of a child, cancer, chronic illness, bankruptcy, infidelity, becoming a paraplegic a month after the wedding, and having their homes damaged in a wildfire and flood as well as everyday job stress.

Pryor said the couples share their secrets for keeping their relationship strong throughout their traumas, and that all couples can use the secrets in their own relationships.

She also said divorced and single people can use the information to make sure their next relationship has what it takes to last forever.

"The Indestructible Relationship shows you how to stop stress from affecting your relationship," said Pryor. "But it's not your typical self-help book. In the tradition of Chicken Soup for the Soul, the book shows, rather than tells, you how to find calm among the storms of life by portraying powerful, touching, real-life dramas."

The Indestructible Relationship has been available on the Kindle and won the 2012 Electronic Publishing Industry Coalition Ebook award for best nonfiction.
