The R-C Morning Report

A quarter of Douglas County's active voters have cast a ballot so far in the 2012 General Election. More than 5,300 cast ballots in early voting and another 2,000 have sent in their absentee ballots. Polls will be set up at the Johnson Lane Fire Station on Stephanie Way 2-6:30 p.m. today.

With the exception of voting, county offices will be closed Friday in observance of Nevada Day, celebrating the Silver State's entry into the union, Oct. 31, 1864. Any business you have with state or local offices, and some banking institutions should be conducted today. The mail will be delivered on Friday.

It will be a chilly night in Carson tonight as the Senators host the Tigers in a game that will end up determining which team will go to the playoffs. Expect a high temperature of 53 under sunny skies, with the low dropping into the teens tonight for our first hard freeze.
