Chain controls on Kingsbury for season's first winter storm

Chains or snow tires are being required on Kingsbury Grade for the first time since spring as a winter storm rolls into Western Nevada.

Heavenly is reporting .4 inches of moisture and an inch of snow so far this morning. Two inches have fallen over the last 24 hours at Kirkwood Mountain Resort.

Meanwhile rain is spreading across Carson Valley from west to east as the storm moved into Western Nevada.

As of 10 a.m., the bulk of the moisture is falling west of Truckee as the storm travels northeast across the Sierra.
