Pickup hits Chichester Estates garage

One person was transported for medical evaluation after a pickup truck struck a garage in Chichester Estates on Friday night.

According to witnesses, the driver of a bronze 2006 Dodge pickup was traveling east on East Marion Russell Drive when the pickup left the road at about 8 p.m. and hit an electrical power box, a cable television service box, an unoccupied parked pickup and the garage door of the home.

The vehicle came to rest against a tree in the front yard.

The driver, identified as Robert Scott, was transported to Carson Valley Medical Center for evaluation. Alcohol and speed were allegedly contributing factors in the incident.

The accident resulted in an interuption in electrical and cable service in the neighborhood.

The Douglas County Building Inspector and several utility company personnel responded to the accident scene to evaluate the damage. The residence was deemed inhabitable.
