Douglas High yearbook staff seeks historical input

The Douglas High School yearbook staff is celebrating 75 years of publications with a special theme — Then & Now.The staff will be documenting the 2012-2013 school year with pictures and articles from this school year as well as with a few pictures and information about Douglas High School’s history. “We know our community has a rich history and we would love to share a few of the best moments of Douglas High School history with our current students and community,” said Douglas High yearbook advisor Jim Abott. “We are looking for old memories, trivia, and old photos from Douglas High School’s past.”Abbott said the club is interested in interviewing any Douglas County High School graduates from the 1960s or earlier to learn what life at the school was like then.Anyone interested in positively impacting the community and enlightening the new generation on how different life used to be at Douglas High School, can contact the yearbook staff.The staff would like to ask anyone who would like to contribute any information about Douglas High School to contact yearbook advisor Jim Abbott by e-mail at jabbott@dcsd.k12.nv.us or by phone at 782-5136. This year’s edition of the GARMINADA year book will be a special edition with only 600 copies being sold. The 2012-2013 yearbook is currently on sale for a cost of $80. The yearbook will be distributed in May 2013. Copies of the special edition can be purchased in the Douglas High School office, in room 110 at Douglas High or online at www.yearbookforever.com/YBMerchandise.aspx.
