Alpine raids second big marijuana grow in four days

Alpine County authorities raided a second pot growing operation in four days on Tuesday morning.

Deputies seized an estimated 100 pounds of dried, processed marijuana and arrested Markleeville resident Jason Scott Miller, 37.

The home at 180 Larson Canyon Road had a hoop house and an indoor processing facility. The marijuana was being stored in grocery sacks, each of which had about a pound and a half. Also hashish was found.

According to Undersheriff Robert Levi, plants as tall as 7 feet with 2-inch diameter stems were inside the hoop house. He said 20 mature plants and 30 immature plants …
