Tom was born to Frank and Bessie Williams in Artesia, Calif. He lived in Ariz. when he was young, he then wen to school in San Diego. in 1947 the family moved to Yerington, Nev. where he graduated from high school. He joined the Navy in 1948. He returned to Yerington and purchased two ranches, where he lived until 1967. He then moved to Gardnerville and was employed at the James Canyon Ranch.
