My father was the most generous man I have ever met.
"In as much as ye have done it unto one of the least of these, my brethren, ye have done it unto me."
Dad embraced this verse. He gave all his love, energy and resources to anyone who needed it. He opened his home to whoever needed a place to stay whether it was for days or months ~ many of those were children who he took in and fathered. His heart reached beyond the limits of our nuclear family to all the kids that entered his home. He fellowshipped the the poor, the homeless, and those who just needed guidance. He owned a small business that always had room for another employee if you needed a job.
Dad left us surrounded with amazing friends and family that, by his example, love and support each other. I am very proud to be his child. He bestowed upon me the greatest gift of all ~ an abiding sense of security that I was loved completely and unconditionally, and through that the ability to love all people regardless of who you are, where you come from, or where you are going. He made me feel omnipotent, able to accomplish any righteous goal I have.
Thank you Dad for all the memories and all of the lessons you gave me by the way you chose to live your life. He passed away at his home on October 2 in the loving arms of his children.
You'll be in our hearts until we see you again. With love from all your children.
