A job fair is 2-6 p.m. today at the Carson Valley Inn. Organized by the Chamber of Commerce, Douglas County Employment/Job Development, Business Council of Douglas County and the Minden-Tahoe Airport, the fair should have about two dozen employers available for people looking for work.
The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for Western Nevada and eastern California as a low pressure system is expected to move across Southern California on Thursday. That means that instead of being in the rain shadow, our weather will be swirling around from the east with the possibility of a Tonopah low. The low will bring a chance of rain to the Sierra south of Highway 50, where showers could drop .5 to an inch of rain. The snow level in Mono County will remain above 9,000 feet where several inches of snow are possible.
